Well, hot damn… what a fun weekend!

Monday, May 31st, 2004

Friday night Park Tavern; Saturday night Halo with Ben and his brother-in-law/new roommate; Sunday night 5-liter kegger; that was hella fun. We had three 5-liter kegs and tapped ‘em all.
I woke up this morning and noticed that iTunes kept a record of all the music from the party. Kerry pretty much owned the role of DJ.

Some highlights:
“The Last Dragon” through “Sweet Jane” = Nintendo time! Several people switched off playing Super Mario Brothers 3.
“Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta.” = Me slicing open the second keg with a knife to get the remaining beer out.
“Kung Fu Fighting” + “Hit Me Baby One More Time” = me & Ben punching each other in the arm. Heh heh.

Today I’ve pretty much been recovering all day. Watched Return Of The King again; and again, I’ll say, damn that’s a long movie. A great movie, yes, but looooonnnnggggg….

Entombed – Wolverine Blues

Friday, May 28th, 2004

I first ran into this album in high school. At the time, the hardest thing I'd been listening to was Slayer. This album mainly confused me at the time, but it did make me more open to death metal.
Now that I've recently acquired it again, I'm far more impressed. Entombed has been a band that I've liked basically everything I've heard, but DclXVI – To Ride, Shoot Straight, and Speak The Truth was the album that really gripped me. I'd owned Wolverine Blues at some point in college, but, much like Kyuss and other, I never really listened to it.
I'm glad I have it again, cause this shit is awesome.

… and then yesterday I walked out of my apartment building to find my car had been towed by my apartment complex because they needed to sweep the parking lot.

Grrr…
