Yep
Wednesday, June 30th, 2004I love everything at this moment. :^D
Tuesday, June 29th, 2004We got a round on the house tonight at Gabby’s. That place is officially as cool as a Emma’s. And that’s saying a LOT.
Also, tonight on the way home, Ben, Kerry, Keith & I were listening to a random compilation in my car, and Bubble Toes by Jack Johnson came on. Ben & Kerry sang along with almost the entire song. Keith bobbed his head with the music, and I grinned my ass off the entire time. The whole experience compromised a perfect moment. It made me want to live life to the fullest, smell the roses… all that jazz.
Cabooze
Thursday, June 24th, 2004Jabberwocky is playing the Cabooze tonight for the first time in over two years. Whooo!!! I love that place; I’m pumped.
And, of course, I’m going to see Phish this weekend at Alpine Valley. Ben, Kerry & I will be camping at the Bong, as per usual. It’s sad that this will most likely be the last time I’ll ever see Phish live, but I’m pumped as hell about going to the show. It’ll probably kick in sometime on the drive home on Sunday. But I don’t particularly want to think about that at the moment.
After finishing Song Of Susannah the other day, I was inspired to re-read Hearts In Atlantis; although I haven’t made much headway as of yet.
I’m also looking forward to watching season 3 of Alias, which I finally finished downloading yesterday. I promised M I’d watch it with her, though, so I’m not sure when we’ll actually get a chance to watch it. Hopefully some time next week.
I’m due for a raise next week!! WHOOOO!!!
Betsy’s wedding is fast approaching. Only a week and a day to go. WOW. Then she’ll be off to California with her new hubby, and who knows when I’ll see her again. She has me convinced (yes, you heard me, CONVINCED) that I need to make plans to fly out to California sometime within the next year. I’m still working on formulating that plan. Maybe M really will come, too, but I think she may be all talk. It’d sure be a lot cooler going with her than by myself, I’ll say that.
Yesterday I watched the MST3K episode, The Beast Of Yucca Flats. The movie itself is a horrible Coleman Francis flick (a name known almost exclusively to MST3K staff and MST3K fans). As MST3K episodes go, it was a pretty damn good one, mostly for the shorts that preceded the movie. The first of which was a short film on the importance of budgeting; something I really wish I’d seen about 10 years ago. After a year of my sister handling my money, I have really learned what it means to budget, and that short film rang quite true, even if the main character was merely a shadow.
1. Estimate your income
2. Plan your spending
3. Remain flexible
4. Save for a goal
Good advice, and I mean that.
The Puerto Rico short was great, too. Especially Mike & The Bots’ reaction to the music cues. The music seemed to be on a loop, so that every scene in the short film ended with a crescendo in the music, after which Mike and the Bots would shout in unison, ‘Puerto Rico!’, or whatever happened to be the topic of that scene. The best one was something along the lines of ‘Textiles!’ (that’s not quite right, I’ll have to look it up)
